THE DMI STORY
​Dynamic Metal Innovations was founded in 2019 by Scott Hartrick and Mark Sternat, both engineering graduates of Penn State University. The company was born out of Scott's first company, Aluma Flowers. ​
Aluma Flowers was founded in 2017 and creates handmade metal flowers from aluminum. These metal flower creations are powder coated and custom engraved to accommodate occasions like anniversaries, birthdays, Valentine's Day, etc.

As Aluma Flowers grew from Scott's basement, to an 800 sq. ft. storage garage, to an 8,000 sq. ft facility, so did the need to be able to cut the flower patterns internally as it became hard to rely on external vendors. Scott decided to purchased a 1500W fiber laser to cut the the flat patterns himself. In addition to cutting flowers that laser needed to generate other revenue, so DMI was born. A small press brake was purchased to be able to bend parts as well. Together, Scott and Mark partnered to launch Dynamic Metal Innovations to fill a gap in the market and provide a one-stop solution for businesses to have a wide variety of metal fabrication services to choose from. Scott focused on running the shop and hiring the first few team members to help with manfacturing, while Mark focused on the sales and marketing to bring in the business and keep the shop busy. ​​
Vertical integration was an important goal from the beginning. Scott and Mark wanted customers to be able to get fully fabricated parts from cut and bend all the way to weld and powder coat. DMI continued to add equipment, services, and staff as the needs of the customers continuously evolved. Today, Dynamic Metal Innovations boasts a team of 30 and a 25,000 sq. ft. facility in Emmaus, PA. The company and team is continuously improving to ensure we have the best people and the best equipment to serve our customers.

In the summer of 2025, DMI opened a 30,000 sq. ft. facility in Texas to better serve the needs of our aerospace customers. We are also in the process of obtaining AS9100 and ISO 9001 certifications.
WHY DYNAMIC METAL INNOVATIONS?
Customers generally only have two simple requests.

In manufacturing, the path to satisfy those requests is not always a straight line. Equipment breaks, employees call off, Covid-19 happens, etc. After ensuring a safe work environment for our team, quality parts is #1 on the priority list. When mistakes happen, we will use our correct active procedures to address those mistakes and provide good parts.

We stand behind our communication from quote through shipping. If it looks like a date is going to slip, we will let you know immediately to come up with a solution to make sure your production timeframe is not affected. As much as we would love to promise perfection, we are all human, but we can promise that we will be there every step of the way and will never leave a customer hanging. We are not just a vendor, we are a manufacturing partner!
