BENDING

DMI offers metal bending services as one of our primary metal fabrication capabilities. With advanced, high-capacity press brake technology, we can provide custom metal bending services for an array of applications and industries. The offline programming technology we use means we can provide quality results for our clients every time, delivering on any special requirements and detailed bending work.  If a part cannot be bend as designed, we will work with you to determine alternative design or manufacturing options.

BENDING CAPABILITIES

Commercial metal bending services are processes where sheet metal is bent to an angle using a hydraulic, pneumatic or electric press. The sheet is placed between a punch and a die, and a press pushes the punch and die together, folding the sheet of metal into the desired configuration. It can be used to form flanges, special geometries, and unique shapes.

As a full-service fabrication company, DMI includes custom metal bending as one of our specialties. Our highly trained staff takes your prototypes and designs and brings them to life with a press brake that can bend metal into nearly any configuration possible. This way, your parts are formed accurately, with minimal distortion, and within your time constraints.

METAL BENDING TECHNOLOGY

DMI's state-of-the-art Mitsubishi Diamond press brake improves bending capabilities by increasing production efficiency and flexibility while delivering quality parts from the first to the last bending operation.

  • 6-axis back gauge provides solutions for even the most complex bending geometries.

  • Efficient volume production as well as small lot size production.

  • Press force of 149 US tons with bending lengths up to 10ft.

  • Processing of unusually shaped parts, as well as long bends with tight angles.

  • Highly efficient bending and repeatability.

  • Wila Premium tooling to ensure the highest possible accuracy.

  • Offline 3D programming allows DMI to take your STEP file and determine if the parts can be bent with our tooling.

  • Automatic re-drawing of flat patterns to adjust bend radius based on our available tooling.

  • Standard flange tolerances are +/- 0.010" and bend-to-bend tolerances of +/- 0.030". Tighter tolerances are achievable as required.
